John Levence "Lee" Lavergne founded Lanor records to tap into the popularity of local musicians, some of which merged cajun music with blues and Rhythm and Blues music. Charles was a blues musician who recorded under the name of Drifting Charles. His 1963 release - "Drifting Cloud" / "Evil Hearted Woman" (Lanor 515) was a substantial blues hit.
